I do L-144, L-081 and L-114. I used to do L-190 and L-191 but they got to be too messy for my tank.

Be warned, some people on SD claim plecos sometimes try to suck the slime off Discus.

I'm aware of that. I just assume a lot of that may happen with lack of food elsewhere.maybe....

This makes it sound as though it is a myth or that these peoples claims are lies - on this occasion I can attest it is fact. ime it is not a case of if, more a case of when. More so in BB tanks than planted.

You should never assume - plecs are active at night, discus are not (they are asleep), plecs behaviour is to graze for their food (very few actively predate). So quite naturally plecs will mooch around to find food, they will in time bump into a discus or two and sooner or later do so in a way that allows them to graze off the discus. Many people seem to think that plecs are vegetarian, the vast majority are omnivores, some are carnivores.

I'm quite sure that there will be many people who come on and say it is safe, many of those will have "loads" of experience too, they may even have kept discus for a year or two. My observations are not based on one tank and a one time occurrence, but on multiple tanks including BB, planted and biotope type and over many years.

I don't keep any plecs with discus now and I won't keep any fish that is nocturnal with fish that are diurnal, be that discus, angels or whatever.

    Comfortably numb.
