Does plecos carry any harmful disease?

I've done a couple searches and got nothing on the topic.

Just wondering as I'm getting a new order and I was thinking to put the new additions into a tank with pleco which were housed with other discus.

Any info will be welcomed

Plecos definitely can carry harmful bacteria and parasites. If you have had the plecos for a while and they have been healthy then they are probably ok, but its certainly a possibility that they carry diseases. I would quarantine your new fish in a tank by themselves, if possible. If you do need to treat with medication, many plecos, catfish, and scaleless fish can be hurt by certain meds.

I'm probably going to go without them. They were healthy but you never know...
