all very nice but that last one stands out simply because the background lends itself very well to the subject. It almost has the slightest halo around the subject which is very cool and focus-directing. Very sharp as well. TFS

Love the Kestrel. Nicely set off by the BG. One of my favorite Raptors, and I may never get a good BIF of one of these little buggers.

Most of the time these captive birds have been rehabbed from injuries that precludes them from being released back into the wild. The ones that have the temperament to be "education" birds seem to enjoy the attention. Might be a little overly anthropomorphic on my part but it is fun to be able to see them so up close, at least for me!

The Kestrel was a beauty little bird and one of my favorites since childhood. Redid the owl a bit.

Nice, this pops a lot more due to the BG. Care to share your PP edit steps?

No sure how to describe it Ricardo but a bit of trying a variety of things. I did use a bit of vignette in both the outer and midrange of the photo. I also darken the background a bit with the brush and messed with clarity and saturation a bit. Did the same on the body of the owl.

The background on this barred owl was rather difficult to work with. You can still see the impressive of a shadow.

    Pat,

So a handler or someone brings these birds to your club to photograph?

Yes Phil, these birds are used for education and can not be released back to be wild birds for various reasons.
