Jay Im glad those envi blocks are working for you. If i had to pay for my firewood I would buy them as well. I just keep a pallet of them on hand and for taking camping.

I Wish I could do the whole house generator..honestly though where we are we have a really good electric co... the most we are out of power is a few days after a hurricane. Normally its a day or less. Can't really justify the cost at this point. Maybe in a few years . Still have one in college and have to do some serious renovations here soon. Always something.

Broke down my axolotl breeding rack today.. replaced it with group housing. Our breeder rack held 20 prs.We currently now have 180 gal, 2@75 gal and 55 gal for axolotls. Going to cut back the breeding this winter to just a few coppers and are trying to stream line the breeding process. . Meanwhile we have over 50 Adults of wild type, leucustic and coppers.

Al, could axolotl's eggs be used for feeding any of your other critters?

Pat theres no reason why the larvae hatched out could not be fed to fish. Its kind of like using frogs and tadpoles for bait.

But.. these are axolotls.. a critter thats pretty much extinct in the wild. It just seems wrong to feed them to fish. I was pretty ticked when the water snakes raided my grow out pond.. not that I could blame them. Amphibians are water snakes natural prey.

Well today was one of those days.
I was prepping a 20 gallon long when I put my hand through the glass top and buried the glass in my fattie part of my palm below the thumb. Needless to say I spent a few hours in the emergency room until they stitched it up. I got lucky (what a thing to say) and a kind soul got me in right away (I was bleeding all over the place). Tetanus shot and 5 stitches later and here I am cleaning up blood and having a shot of some good blood thinner. Tequila!!
I would post a pic of my wound but I don't want to shock anybody.

Just not my end of summer since I totaled my truck my luck has been going down hill. My sis told me to take up needle point as a hobby but she changed her mind incase I stab myself.

P.S. hard to work on the tanks with those gloves but I see your point.

The sterbai fry seem to be doing OK. The breeders dropped another 50 or 60 eggs yesterday so I have another batch going as well. Like I needed more.
Side note, I absolutely hate fry powder. I find it almost impossible to tell if they're eating it and it's so messy.
