Sorry to say I consider that timeline unlikely. However, the alternative route from Driggs to Jackson is a 2-hour trip vs a 35-minute drive, so it doesn't necessarily have to disrupt your trip if you plan beforehand.

The 2-hour drive through Alpine is gorgeous, so it's not a problem for vacationers. For people working in Jackson but live in Idaho due to sky high rents (which is just about everybody), it's a different problem. As of today, the Jackson school system isn't sure they'll have teachers tomorrow. I expect many hospitality providers to shut down due to the lack of service workers.
At my age, everything is irritating.

Today I worked on a few solar generators and back up power systems.. just small systems but they help me out alot here when power is down or I need quiet power. Ive been using these a few years.. topped off with DI water these batteries usually give me about 5 years if I treat them right. Probably need to change a few out soon.

The charge controllers and wiring will eventually find its way into a cabinet. I have plans for a big array down the road but the funds dried up so this will have to do. Im using a few mppt charge controllers here and Lead acid batteries. Its s total of 500 Amp Hours power in this set up. I also have a few AGM batteries banks inside the house and in my camper . each set up gives me 140 Amp Hours of power.

The day was going relatively well.. though I did end up having to redo some of my solar cables. There was a slight medical incident that probably startled my neighbors as it was followed by some serious swearing. note to oneself it always hurts when your screw bit goes through your finger.

That would be a 1967 Triumph spitfire that is in need of restoring. It was my father-in-laws. Been Tarped for several years as I have no garage.here. A few weeks ago I uncovered it. Hoping to start work this summer on it with my son. Father inlaw had.done alot of work on it as a project car... bodies in great shape...Been sitting a long time... not running.

Hope you can get it running Al What a great father/son project. When I was in college my grandfather offered me a 1957 Studebaker. After careful thought I took a pass due to getting parts being a possible problem due to the age of the car. I sort of wished I had decided differently.

I know how that hurts, just keep your fingers with the car project.

Spring has (finally) sprung in the Rockies.

The lilacs are in full bloom and the lupines are in bud.

    IMG_4326[1].jpg

Still waiting for the irises and peonies.

67 spitfire. Nice toy! But they are a working toy. Brits don’t make good cars. Seems all they do is have problems. And you never know where the problem will be. But it’s almost a guarantee it will happen 50+ miles away from home.

So yesterday I pulled the lawn mower out for the first time this year. Winter growth is slow and Central Florida has been in a mild drought for the last couple months. So I have avoided mowing because of the dust kicked up by the mower. Finally we started to get rain meaning it was time to mow. Yesterday I mowed the front yard and today I will mow up and down the driveway and some of the back yard. Guessing I have about 1.5 acres to mow.

fun fun fun... mowing the lawn here is my least favorite thing. Thankfully its the one outdoor choir I no longer do. My Kids and Carrie handle the lawn mowing. I'm the gardening, tree cutting, project building and general cleaner upper guy outside.

Al, I do not mind mowing the yard, it's way more fun then housework . For now I am the everything person so my work crew is me, myself and I lol. Hopefully soon Tom can join me in some chore sharing. I remain forever hopeful.

What will you do once the kids finish college and move to their next life adventure?
