    Default Update on Noecaridina shrimp & new delivery

    Its been a while since I have posted on my shrimp, everything is going well and my Blue Diamonds are exploding with shrimplet's they are doing very well. Today I am suppose to get my new delivery of Bloody Mary's & Sunkist shrimp. I have evil thoughts in my mind down the road that I will be pulling the trigger on which my wife just shakes her head at me. I am going to start Sulawesi shrimp as well and going to start off with Cardinal White Sock ones first. This is something I have to try because my water parameters are perfect for keeping them without having to add anything to my water. The only thing I have to do is put in a heater and setup the tank the way I want it and I am ready to go. Of course this will be a little way down the road. I would still like to get a few more Neocaridina shrimp species before then.

    The Sulawesi are gonna be awesome, they almost have a saltwater shrimp look to them.

    The neos look good, my neo systems should be up soon and I can't wait. Kept them in a planted tank but excited to keep them species only.

    I do believe I will have to pull the trigger on a tank of Sulewasi shrimp before winter time.

    Please do! I'd love to follow your breeding journey with them. Out of curiosity, what are your water parameters like? Do you have really hard water? I heard shrimp do better with harder water, so might be something I pursue in the future since our water is historically pretty hard.

    Yes actually my water parameters are perfect for Sulawesi shrimp I do not have to add anything to it. All of my neocaridina shrimp are in the same water and are thriving in it. Here are my basic parameters.

    PH=8.1
    TDS=321

    Thanks for that Scott! I review our municipality's annual water quality report and our results are similar to what you've got going for parameters as well. They measure a pH of 8.7 (but measured at my tap it's more like 7.8-8), about 7dH and 225 for TDS. How do you feel that stacks up for shrimp?

    Yes your water should be fine for shrimp, whenever I get new shrimp I make sure that I drip acclimate for 3 to 4 hours to slowly get them use to my water.
