    Default Unexplained Darting

Within the last week, my fish have started to dart to the back when they are approached. They also hide more than normal when I'm not up close. They have always been very sociable and came up front when I come close. The only changes that I have made this week are adding salt and raising the temp. to 90, whice I have now lowered back to 85. They still come out to eat once they see the food, but they're just not acting as freindly as normal. Any thoughts? Thanks!

How fast did you raise the temp?

As fast as the heater could do it. I turned the heater right up to 90. I didn't think it would be a big deal because it was only 5 degrees.

Julz just suggested that it might of been from the removal of one of my light strips around the same time, any other opinions? Thanks!

P.s Lights That could be! Why did you raise the temp and add salt in the first place if all was well?

    Actually...
I mentioned that when I move a lamp or even certain unfamiliar shadows startle them and cause occasional darting. Heavy put two and two together there.

I suggested putting the light back in place to see if they calm any.

If I remember correctly from chat, you raised the temp and added salt for the small white spot on a fin, right?

Check maybe for a small electrical current in the water. One of my heaters leaked a charge in a salt water tank and they fish were jumpy. Throwing things out there.
