    Default sick discus

About 4 days ago my 2inch discus has stopped eating. It seems to be clamping one gill closed and hides in the back of the tank. I keep the temperature at 84, PH is 6.8,nitrate and amonia are 0, 10 percent water changes everyday, the water I change with is held in peat moss pails, filtered, then added to tank at same temperature. Three other discus seem to be fine, any idea what might be wrong, and what can be done. :-[

Merlo: Welcome to Simply. Most likely is Gill Fluke. Without knowing what it is. The first line of defence is to raise the temp to 90 degree and add salt. Starting at 1 table spoon per 10 gal. If no improvement in a few hours. Add formalin 1cc per 10 gal.

If he is going down that fast you may not be able to save him. You have extra air in the tank? It's always needed with high temps and formalin.

How are the other three? Do you see any other symptoms?
