    Hi,

    Just wondering on average, what age do discus stop growing and when are they sexually mature.

    Sexual maturity 12 to 18 month more or less. May add size a little longer

    Average lifespan is probably less than 6 months

    Those that make it past the one year mark might live to be 8 or 9 or so with good care

    It was kind of a tongue-in-cheek answer. Average of discus means all the discus sold in pet shops too. Most beginners lose discus. They die within the first few months. Some in the first few days. Discus in the hands of competent hobbyists may live much longer, but when you average the lifespan of every discus sold in North America . . . .
