I have an 40g with 10 discus about 4 month old and they have about 3,5-4'' .it is normal to have this dimension at this age?How long I can keep in this tank.They do not have to much colour on body,when they have normal colour?

Your tank is too small for 10 growing discus. I started my 7 two inch discus in a 30g tank. As they grew I transfered them to a 75. They are now about 5in and doing great.
Of you change water daily you might be able to get away with it on the short term.

Hey Marion,

I agree with Moon. It's getting pretty crowded for 10 Discus of that size. You will want to be sure that you keep up with your water changes and be thinking about a larger tank to transfer them to.

Yep...it's time to think about putting them in a bigger tank.

You don't mention what strains you have, but at that age many types of Discus are only showing hints of their adult colors.

For 4 months old discus, at 3.5' to 4' are good size. Also, I agree with everyone that you need to get them a bigger tank.

THK for your quick replay, I have Blue turquoise that told from where I took it but I think some of them are red turquoise and some blue. I wish to keep 2 pair but I really don't know how to do it. I make WC everyday 15% two times morning & evening.
