    Default Filtration

do you guys think that on a planted 75 gallon tank that two aqua clear 50 filters would be enough?? They each pump 200gph and say they are good for up to 50 gallons. So two will pump 400gph and should do 100gallons right??

    Why don't you just get a 110?

On a planted tank you want to get a canister filter. Surface agitation will greatly decrease the amount of CO2 in the water that the plants need, and make it very hard to keep CO2 levels at a constant level.
I have used the HOB style filters and know from experience. Get a Rena XP3 and you should be fine.
