    Default PH 7.8

Is a PH of 7.8 ok for discus? Also will this prevent them from having healthy young? I have read that they are from soft acidic water. So since this is what my tap is at I am thinking about how it will affect them. It would save me a lot of stress because I wouldn't have to add anything to the tank to alter the ph. But please let my know what impact a higher ph like this will do the discus. My water is not very hard either yet still has a high ph. Thanks

I believe someone in your other thread told you it was ok

There are people here that keep and breed their discus at 7.8 and someone else posted they keep theirs at 8.0. Your pH is fine

Mine are living in pH of 8.2 and I have been told that is ok.
I know it is hard to believe, but in fact they breathe and eat well, so… I suppose it is, really, ok.

    Good luck,
