I have municipal water and have worked at the plants so I know some of how the water gets treated. my tap comes in at 540+- ec, tonight while doing wc I noticed it was 145. no way! even checked meter and water in other tanks that are just tap, not meter
got to call them tomorrow, imo it's impossible
Jim
No not bubbly at all.
I called and good news for me, instead of getting water from the amawalk reservoir as we usually do we will be getting it from the Catskill aqueduct until april which is much better. gh is 3 degs. where mine is 8-19 ph is 6.9 where it's usually 8.0+ They said they mailed out notices, but I didn't get one.
Jim
Heh finally a good news thread about a water company decision.
This is a first
That's good till April at least!

i told him it's ok with me if they leave it like that!!
the only problem was I had some tanks at 250 ec water is coming in today at 170ec so I have to almost acclimate them down. I ordered some ro right last week o experiment again and at least I have that to build gh back up if I need too
Jim
yeah you get NYC water, can't complain about that
we've been doing a lot of new water mains because they plan on some big rehabs to the aqueduct ,but most of them were to take towns/municipalities off the aqueduct, surprised we got put on, must be problems in the reservoir water. I'm just glad I always check the water going into my tanks.
Jim
not as happy as i thought I would be, 2 days ago ec was 200+ today it's 103. they said nyc switches treatment plants as they feel. and since we are just borrowing from them we get what they give! the reservoir water we always get was a little harder, at least it was stable.
Jim
Wow - hate instability!
