Default Black water extract worth a darn??

Saw this product at the LFS for discus tanks? Does anyone have any experience with these?

I've used them in my SA cichlid tank but I do not have to change much water very often. You would go through a lot of it quickly in a discus tank. $$$$$
I think it looks really nice, just like what the mopani wood did to my water; tea color.
I have no idea if it raises the TDS or phosphate levels in the tank though. It is supposed to soften your water so you would have to watch out for your pH if your water is already soft.
Adding peat to your filter would do the same thing but it would be cheaper.

You could make your own using Indian Almond Leaf teabags. It's a lot cheaper. Doesnt raise TDS, but will lower your ph

How much tea do you use and how much does it lower pH?

Unless you are keeping wild forms of Discus that are from dark waters, you would be wasting money..Domestic Discus haven't a clue what 'blackwater' is...nor do they need it..
