With the Eheim you havent hard problems with parts breaking like i have read from some of the other members here?
Here is my experience with Eheim: http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showth...ecommendations

Here is my new setup with an inline heater. Been up and working for a few weeks now.

Eheims basically last forever, or, very close to forever. Very unusual IME for a part to break. The older models, i.e. 2215 and 2217 are more economical and for a 65gal I'd personally go with the 2217 despite the fact that it's rated for larger tanks. Get a kit that includes the media as the sintered glass media is now very expensive. BigAlsonline.com had the best deals.

I have been using an Eheim 2217 in my 80g with 7 adult discus for more than a year now. I never had a problem and I am very happy with it. Very quiet and efficient (never got amonia readings in my tank). Eheimīs classic line (2213, 2215, 2217, 2260, 2262) is very reliable. However, I have seen several reports of problems with Eheimīs professional line. See for example:

I strongly recommend the Eheim 2217.
And so.. I ordered the 2217 today for a new tank and Discus-Hans discus I recieved last Saturday. You guys are costing me WAY too much money :-)
Yes, I am new here, but not new to discus... Or the discus dealers.. I find in todays market, Discus-Hans is one of the best. If not THE best.
Plug intended..:-)
And I like sponge filters too. Just need to tickle the discus a bit more with the Eiheim.
I have an Aquatop Cannister Filter (AT300) rated for 317gph. It is super quiet and does a wonderful job of filtration. I looked into Ehiem, Marineland and other brands but I thought were too expensive when comparing the filtration rate. I really did my home work. I wanted more bang for my buck really compared and took a shot with this "unfamiliar brand". They have another model basically last years 2011 model on sale for seventy bucks delivered with media. I just ordered it even though I don't need it quite yet now but will soon.

I am using Eheim Pro II for more than a year now. with no problems

Eheim 2217 I'd say the best for the buck. They keep it simple which is probably why it work so well.
