My god what an absolute nightmare. I don't have much these days but I'll see what I can do !!
Its with a heavy heart that I'm here to ask for the hobbyists to give back to the community. A good friend & discus breeding guru to me, Jack Taylor has had a total loss house fire. It started under the kitchen. Thankfully no one was hurt. Jack was at work so it didnt get caught quickly. His Fish Basement had 1-2ft of water on the floor from the fire hoses. The tanks were crusted in soot. Had to scrape it just to maybe get a peak & see if any fish were alive. The rest of the house is a loss.
Jack has been an important person in mine & many discus keepers hobby! Hes a NADA Trophy holder & an incredible teacher of the hobby! He's given way more than hes recieved. So now its our time as a community to giveback to a fellow hobbyist in need.
We never realize how much we need/use day to day that we dont realize, until its not there. Toiletries, clothes, blankets... The actual stuff that makes the day go.
Now imagine everything you own is gone.... A few wks before Christmas. Lets show what discus hobbyists Can do to help! Thank you for your time!
Thank you guys n gals. You are what makes this hobby!

This makes my heart hurt. I can not even imagine dealing with something like this at this time of year. I'm sure any and all donation would be appreciated.

Wow, that sucks. Jack is a great guy.

At my age, everything is irritating.
I learned a little about Jack from Al. Apparently Jack has been a member since the early years and has been a past sponsor. Here's a thread on his fishroom http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showth...light=fishroom.

I'm ok and glad I wasn't home. I'll get through this just like the 2 surgeries this year. You can slow me down but I'll never stop moving forward. I know no other direction. This will be another journey of my life. Thank you!
Are the fish ok Jack?
I don’t have much but I’m happy to contribute! It’s important we stay strong as a community!
Thank you, Cyrus. Thats a true statement, my friend.

NADA is donating 20% of the current raffle proceeds to Jack's Fire Fund. Hopefully that will help a little.
