Discovery when feeding my Discus
I have two 100's of Discus of my own breeding. One contains mostly adults and sub-adults. The other contains all juvies. I wa/s at my last of thawed beef heart. I gave each tank 2 1/2 cubes of beef heart rather than their usual 4 or 5 cubes. I made up the rest of their meal with earthworm sticks.
I discovered 2 things. The younger fish went for both equally. The older fish like to do more fighting over food than eating it. They went for the heart mix first, but in the end, the adults got full first and want to fight anymore and each got its fair share.

I noted the same with my few discus.

I think the fighting at feedings is also partially responsible because of the food form. I say this because I recently switched to the loose FDBW from the cubes. The cubes made them all the fish bunch together and push and fight. Throw in the loose and it floats all around freely and fighting greatly minimized and the slower to the table fish get their fill at their own pace. I don't think I'm going back to cubes for that sole reason. I have 7 - 5" in my 80 gal.

"I have two 100's of Discus of my own breeding." I'm not sure what you mean by this. You have over 200 discus? Must cost a lot just to feed them.

I think it means that she has two 100 gallon tanks.
