Bladderwort found in my tropical aquarium
If I am correct in my identification, the stringy plant I found in my tropical aquarium is a Bladderwort. This is a carnivorous plant as is very evident by the copepods captured by the traps.
It seems like the speed at which the trap closes is one of the fastest movements in the plant kingdom. It must be highly efficient as almost each trap on the string had at least two to four copepods, rotifers and possibly other crustaceans.
