Next a couple of male German Blue Blusher Pearlscales indulging in fisticuffs. They're in a 100 gallon with a bunch more of them. They're breeding age and pair up and lay eggs all the time.
Al suggested that I post pics of my Angels. I'll tell you what...It isn't easy taking decent pics of many different fish in one fell swoop. I did my best.
First, my proven pair of Gold Pearlscales

Now, one of my Blue Platinum Pearlscales. I have a ton of these at breeding age as well.

A lot of bling there, stunning!
Now for one of my two proven pairs of Half Blacks. This is just their second spawn so they're still a little stupid. They're nt freaked because their kids have left the cone. They keep hunting them down and spitting them back.

This is a pair that I would like to get fry from but I simply don't have the tank space to grow out their fry. They are Blue Marble Pearlscales. I wish I'd have gotten a better pic of the male. He is exceptionally beautiful.

This is a female Blue Silver Pearlscale. I couldn't capture her with her male friend but as you can see she has her tube down. She and her man spawned in a 100 gallon with a bunch of other Angels so I gave them a love nest of their own. Shortly after I finished taking pics she started cleaning the cone.

The ones I was not able to get a shot of are my Silver kids. They are quarter size and they wouldn't stand still for me! They are my breeding project. They are het for Half Black, het for blue, and het for pearlscale. My eventual goal is to get a strain of Half Black Blue Pearlscales. It will take a lot of luck and many years. I have millions of these guys and I only need a handful to work with. They don't have much value for their phenotype, but they have a good bit of value for their genotype.

Your discus are talking to you....are you listening
Thank you, Skip, Paul, and William. The only problem is that I have too many of them. I need to advertise on Aquabid, but it's such a pain that I keep not doing it.
Pat the Half Blacks are the valuable ones, but if I am able to make Blue Half Blacks with some Blue HB pearls I'll have people beating a path to my door.

The Half Blacks just moved their kids to the sponge filter. They're all in one place which makes the parents calm and happy. I imagine that the kids can get some nutrition from micro organisms on the filter, but not what they really need. I just tossed in some more BBS. The kids are all over hunting it and the parents are going nuts again. I hope that they don't end up eating the majority of them like they did on their first try.
Artificial raising of Angels is a piece of cake but I have this silly belief that if a pair is too stupid to raise their own kids, they're too stupid to bother with.

They're fabulous, Liz - I'm in love with Angels all over again !!
I wish I had room for the Blue Silver Pearlscales. I wouldn’t trade the ones I have though, just wish I had a bigger tank! I never thought I could be such an angel fan. They aren’t boring- little hell raisers would be a more fitting name.
