The white pigeon appears female. I would need to see more of the red one.
Hi all,
I am new to this forum and searching for help to identity the sex of my 2 discus. Both of them around 6" and 18 months old. Please see attachments.
Thanks in advance for your help

For me sexing discus is as reading the tea leaves.
IMO you can be only be sure if you see one laying eggs - then it’s a female. If you have wigglers than another from that pair is male.
I’m with Pablos.
Anything else is just a guess
It sounds like it is impossible to tell the sex on discus. I was wrong thinking and hoping the tube could tell us something. Nah, would you please share your experience to lead you to thinking the white pigeon may be a female?
Actually you can tell the gender based on the tube. I did not see any tubes in the photos, only saw the vent. Females have larger tubes with a squared off tip. Males are smaller with a rounded tip. You may find this thread useful http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showth...scus-Apparatus.

Your discus are talking to you....are you listening
At what age the discus show their tube? or they only show during spawning?
