Default Wild discus in their natural habitat

Just found this video on the practicalfishkeeping website (magazine we get here in the UK).

Its of discus in their natural habitat with other fish you find there.
There are some festivum cichlids there and i think i saw a pike and some kind of peacock bass (not sure)
There are some other fish there as well (anyone know what the fish are??)

I think its a good video and i thought i would share it

very cool makes you rethink things a bit. Look at how bad that water is and lots of fish i would never think of putting in a tank.
The water looks pretty fast there at the end and not too clean.

    Thanks for the video

Just goes to show that looks can be deceiving.
    That water is completely perfect.

I've seen many hobbiests make the mistake thinking their water is perfect because it's crystal clear, but they don't even own a test kit.

The thread always starts out the same, my water was perfect, crystal clear but my fish are sick, haven't eaten in two weeks.

    What's goin on here ?

Wow! The water at the end of video is very fast. Discus are all huddled together. I wonder if they are stressed or they don't mind being in the faster moving water.

It may look dirty but i bet that water is perfect. I too would never put those fish in with discus. The pike seems to be hanging around in the video, but safety in numbers always wins.

Looks like discus dont mind the fast flowing water, but no doubt they prefer slower water.

I'm sure they would move if they did not like it, maybe they are waiting for food to flow by them like trout do. They are probably also huddled closer together due in part to the human shoving a camera in their face schooling/shoaling defensive behavior.

Hello friends, this is my video, I made these video on the lago grande do Curuai. ( Lake )
and is time and drier, so we can view as many discus.
is not normal, this only happens during 03 months after the onset of the rains this place is over 4 meters and the discus return into the flooded forest
