It is just a matter of time. I had hundreds of cherry shirmps living peacefully with discus and one file day my discus figured that it was food. Within few days all shrimps were gone.
I have had Wilds in think bread discus in the past that would eat anything living. Expensive Cardinal tetras, earthworms, mosquito larvae, brine shrimp, feeder Guppies... but my current crew is way too nice. I actually saw page shrimp swim into my largest discus mouth and The discus acted like the shrimp was there just to clean his teeth. Now I have cherry shrimp population explosion! My lemon tetras and banjo cats are no help either! I have been wary to buy any Raphael catfish but tempted! Each weekend I met out at least 40 or 50. And that doesn't even do a dent. Definitely would love to hear any suggestions! Beware that it is a planted along with a lot of driftwood 150 gallon tank!

Its me "Prabhu" I am just a little angry these days
I would go with female bettas. They usually go for the shrimp like it's Christmas presents opening time plus, from experience, they are good discus tank mates. You should have Your shrimp under control in no time, also from experience
you could always sell the cherries for extra dough

Hope you're right angrybird!
Marta, I love that idea
Jacklyn, if you're ever in chucktown then I'll give you plenty!

Your 'current crew' needs motivation. Cut way back on the regular feedings & allow the natural predatory cichlid instincts to kick in. Once they are hungry they will start to forage for food & those shrimp that are presently ignored will suddenly look mighty tasty. I still have shrimp in my sig but truthfully they never last long lol lol! "T"
