Hello,
Can anyone help me diagnose and treatment for this unknown disease on one of my discus? It is now in my hospital tank.
The symptom showed up 2 weeks ago, it was in my breeder tank and I noticed it developed such a mark on its body (both sides, same mark), also you can see its body is a little bit dark. So I took it out.
Since then I have tried adding salt, up my WC, adding MB, but no luck improving it.
My parameters are always the same - 0 ammonia 0 nitrite and ~20 nitrate ph 7.5. Water change 30-40% every other day/ every 2 days.
Any help would be appreciated!

Could be heater burn, I usually put my heater horizontally. 50% Daily water changes. in the meantime use salt as a treatment one Tablespoon per 10 gallons.

Thank you for rotating the pics
It might be, that high up on the fish. Does it seem to be spreading to you? If not, Francis is correct.

That's a long time. I would like others' opinions, too. Salt will help.

I recommend starting aquarium salt at 3tbs per 10G and nitrofurazone.

My question is it was in a breeding tank was it feeding fry? Maybe it’s from fry just eating in the same area. Being on both sides that may be where the fry are going. Just an idea. Yes salt is the best first start!
That might not be a bad idea. For sure up the salt before you get more knowledgeable advice. See what people say tomorrow before you do anything other than add more salt.

Hi Tammy, I don't have nitrofurazone at hand, it's not easy to get in Canada either, I have to order over eBay. But I got other antibiotics like oxytetracycline, penicillin, would it help?
Oxytetracycline is a good option. Keep in mind that it is light sensitive so keep the lights off. Treatment needs to be done in QT.

That was also my first thoughts. I've seen a few of those before on discus. I had one years ago like that ;that one did heal but took a long time and involved more of the bottom fin instead of that much muscle tissue. Hopefully it didn't damage the tissue too much as to cut off blood flow to the area if that be the case.
