Have a black ram that is absolutely obsessed with the sponge filter airflow. He sits there stares at it... Circles it and swims through it. No idea if he is playing or attacking. It but I get the impression he is attacking it. This is an all day thing... Every day. I think he sees his reflection in the big bubbles.
He's a riot to watch.

Ignore the Brown diatoms..the bristle nose are not allowed near the top of the sponge!

Your discus are talking to you....are you listening
Mine use to love to spawn on top of the sponge filter so maybe he is scouting a location. My ABN's loved to go inside the filter tube so I removed them all.

I use to have a fish that sat in the bubbles of the air sponge, he must have thought it was a massage. LOL
Here you guys go..
First it started with the Male...
It has devolved into a full assault by both male and female in.the pair.
I really am worried that they may kill the sponge filter. lol Should I move the filter to a hospital tank?

Not in this pairs case.. In the video they move off to the left.. They had a spawn of eggs there when I recorded this. I just pulled the eggs because they are so agitated I was worried they would eat them,
What ever it is about that sponge and air bubbles it really ticked them off.

That sponge filter is fighting for its life, Al. I'd pull it.
I have greatly enjoyed ram behavior, mine attack the weirdest stuff. Including me. I wonder if they'd be similarly upset if there were smaller bubbles or something? Maybe there's a sound it's making or a vibration that's driving them nuts.
