Default Discus hanging at surface, mouth up

One of my discus in main tank stopped eating and then started staying in the back corner with its mouth pointing straight up. Other discus are fine
I have it in a hospital tank, on its own, very warm water aeration, salt, epsom salts, and have dosed Flubendazole 3 times now over a week, not much has changed, hasn’t gotten better or worse (worse would be dead I guess)
Water params are all fine, and no visible external symptoms.
I guess I should euthanise it?

I would stop any additional meds. Please fill out the disease questionnaire so we can dig a little deeper into this.

    Problem

    1. Please explain the problems with your fish. When did you notice the problems and did anything unusual happen that you think started them?
Fish was initial ok. Stopped eating and hid in the back of the tank.

    2. Symptoms (i.e. turning dark, excess slime, not eating, clamped fins, flashing, darting, clamped gills, white/yellow/green poop, hiding, headstanding or tailstanding, white on tips of fins, rotting or fungus, blisters/white zits on fish, bloated, cloudy eyes, wounds).
Not eating, tailstanding (although not initially), fish otherwise physically looked fine externally.

    3. What medications/ treatments have you already tried and what were the results. Include dosage and duration of treatment.
Tried Flubendazole 5% in hospital tank, 1 gram per 10 US gallons, 3 times over 1 week, water change prior to redose.
Water in hospital tank initially from main tank.
Also added 1 tbsp salt, and 1 tbsp Epson Salts
Water temperature 30C then raised to 32C.

    Tank/Water

    4. Tank size and ages, numbers and sizes of fish.
    Main tank is 72" x 18" x 24", contains 3 discus, 10 cardinal tetras, 6 small albino bristlenose. Planted.

    5. Water change regime (What percentage and how often).
    50% weekly

    6. How long has tank been running? Is it bare bottom? If you have substrate, what type and how deep is it?
10 years, Seachem Flourite substrate, about 3" deep.

    7. Do you age your water? If you do for how long and what is the ph swing.
I use Seachem Safe to treat the whole tank and slowly add the new water directly from the tap, pH swing very minimal.

    8. What type/brand water conditioner do you use? Do you add it to the tank or aging barrel? How much do you use?
Seachem Safe, added to tank's full volume (about 130 US g, 500 litres)

    9. Parameters and water source;

Note: Water Parameters are important in diagnosing problems within a tank. If you don't own test kits for the following information, you can purchase them, test your parameters and post this info as soon as possible.

    - temp _____28C

    - ph _____7.4

    - ammonia reading ____0

    - nitrite reading ____0

    - nitrate reading ____10

What type of water or combinations of water sources do you use? If it is an RO/tap/well water mix, please list percentages in the mix.

    - well water ____0

    - municipal water ____100

    - RO water ____0

    10. Any new fish, plants or inverts added recently.
    No

    11. Please tell us what you feed your fish and how often. This can be critical information for solving the problem so be as specific as you can.
3 feedings daily. Ocean Nutrition discus flakes, New Life Spectrum Discus pellets, New Life Specture Thera A pellets, frozen blood worms, frozen brine shrimp, frozen beef heart

    12. Include any pictures or videos you have which shows the symptoms. If you can't add them to this post, please provide a link to them.

    Bob,
You have posted alot about flubendazole on the forum. In one of those threads..

    https://forum.simplydiscus.com/showt...g-vs-10-dosing
I gave you a link and warned of side effects.

Your fishes Tail Standing is from the flubendazole. Its a documented side effect that some discus experience. It also happens alot with overdoses

Sometimes they recover and sometimes not. Im sorry.Theres nothing you can do at this point Im afraid

Al, you didn’t read my opening post properly. The mouth pointing up had already started prior to any treatment. Nothing to do with the Flubendazole.I’m not sure why I’m on here - please remove my account.
