Neat! Nice group, Daniel.
This his the talk tjat will eventually house my return to discus group. For now I am growing out a mixed group of lake tanganyika tropheus species. Very social, highly active species of fishes. I will be adding 1 more variant in the next few months, a line bred variant called red bishops, which are a natural mutation of the species black “caramba”. A splash of lighter red to round it out. Once these guys are all 3-5” I will sell off my Malawis from the 500gal, moves these, and get some discus this tank.
Hope you enjoy! Peace.
Neat! Nice group, Daniel.

Very nice group of fish and very active
Thank you Frank!
Agreed Al! With our oldest off to college in a year I am heading into a season of life with a little less time pressure so providing appropriate care for discus will be manageable. Looking forward to it!!
Thank you Scott!
Nice tank Danny! But, I'm looking forward to seeing your return to discus!!!
Thanks Brian!! I am too mate. I entered the discus arena under the illusion that a water change every week or 2 would be sufficient to have happy healthy discus, since that’s what worked with every other species I have kept over the previous 35yrs. I did research a little on the front side but discovered and learned a lot about the necessary requirements to have happy healthy discus once I became active here in SD. With my family, church & work life commitments I realized after a year or so I could not sustain those requirements at this stage of my life, so to prevent the loss of my stunning discus from Dennis Discus Fish, I sold them and went back to African cichlids.
I have enjoyed reconnecting with the SD community and will continue to be active even though I’m not currently keeping discus.
More to come!!
